Canine II PT: Gross and Applied Anatomy and Therapeutic Exercise Prescription

This course is required for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists and actively enrolled students in these fields.

This course is not required of veterinarians, veterinary technicians or actively enrolled students in one of these fields but it can be used to fulfill the Canine V requirement.

Prerequisites

Participant must:
Participant must be a veterinarian, veterinary technician, physical therapist, physical therapist assistant or an actively enrolled student in on of these fields.

Course Description:

This course will provide the participant with a comprehensive examination of canine anatomy. Basic components of the orthopaedic and neurologic examination will be introduced as well as normal canine gait. Course material will include detailed review in both lecture and laboratory sessions of canine arthrology, myology, osteology and neuroanatomy. The dissection lab will be a major component of this course. Participants will be guided through a clinically supervised dissection of the dog and will have access to anatomical teaching specimens as well.
